BRYDIE MANGOS

Red Ruffles is the outcome of a project where we had the freedom to experiment with techniques and processes that we hadn't used before or that we knew we were going to be using in another project. I chose to experiment with fullness; ruffles, pleats, gathers and other ways of creating volume, in preparation for my final collection. I knew I wanted to use fullness in my final collection so used this project to try new techniques and experiment. My end outcome is a bodysuit with ruffles and pleats sewn onto the bodice pieces. There is then a large gathered skirt over top with a paper bag waist and boning in the hem to give it shape.
